Best Practice Summary
(how it works, how you measure it)

Three years ago the Center for Quality Health Care Services and Consumer Protection-Virginia Department of Health (CQHCCP-VDH), in collaboration with the Virginia Health Care Association, Virginia Association of Nonprofit Homes for the Aging, the Virginia Hospital and Health Care Association, and the State Ombudsman Program initiated a Nursing Facility Advisory Committee. This committee was developed to serve as an informal forum to address concerns involving the Federal Enforcement Process for participation in the Medicare/Medicaid Programs. The CQHCCP-VDH has implemented more than 10 regulatory bulletins and a facility recognition program for deficiency-free surveys, as a result of this committee.
