Practice Summary
(how it works, how you measure it)
Three years
ago the Center for Quality Health Care Services and Consumer Protection-Virginia
Department of Health (CQHCCP-VDH), in collaboration with the Virginia
Health Care Association, Virginia Association of Nonprofit Homes
for the Aging, the Virginia Hospital and Health Care Association,
and the State Ombudsman Program initiated a Nursing Facility Advisory
Committee. This committee was developed to serve as an informal
forum to address concerns involving the Federal Enforcement Process
for participation in the Medicare/Medicaid Programs. The CQHCCP-VDH
has implemented more than 10 regulatory bulletins and a facility
recognition program for deficiency-free surveys, as a result of
this committee.

While the
individual best practices are shown under the Best Practices Repository,
you may also query the repository by keying in a word or phrase
below. The repository will then be searched for your phrase. If
it is not found, you are invited to e-mail the Commonwealth Competition
Council with the topic you are interested in, and an attempt will
be made to contact one of the Virginia state government agencies
responsible for that issue.
